Share Your Outdoor Photos
GoBeOutside helps people discover great places to get outside, make better weather-based plans, and explore more of the places around them.
We are building destination pages for outdoor locations across the country, including lakes, trails, river towns, parks, mountain areas, waterfronts, campgrounds, scenic drives, and travel destinations. Great photography makes those pages more useful, more inspiring, and more representative of what each place is really like.
If you are a photographer with outdoor, travel, landscape, wildlife, recreation, or destination photos, we would love to hear from you.
Help Show People What Is Outside
We are especially interested in high-quality photos that show the real experience of being outdoors, such as:
- Hiking trails, overlooks, bluffs, mountains, and state parks
- Lakes, rivers, waterfalls, beaches, and shorelines
- Kayaking, paddling, boating, fishing, biking, camping, skiing, and golfing
- Scenic small towns, waterfronts, downtown areas, and local landmarks
- Seasonal outdoor scenes, including fall color, winter recreation, spring wildflowers, and summer lake days
- Natural, authentic moments that help visitors picture themselves there
Photos do not need to be dramatic or heavily edited. A beautiful, useful image that captures the feel of a place can make a big difference.
Where Your Photos May Be Used
Contributed photos may be considered for use on relevant GoBeOutside destination pages, activity pages, social media, newsletters, or other GoBeOutside content.
When we use a photographer’s image, we will provide visible credit and a link when appropriate. We want the people creating great outdoor photography to be recognized for their work.
Available Photo Opportunities
Some location pages currently use images from Wikimedia Commons or other Creative Commons-licensed sources. Those images help us get started, but they are not necessarily the long-term image choice for the page.
A simple way to see whether a location may be available is to look at the image credit beneath the featured photo:
- If the page credits a photographer or another source, that image may already be part of an existing arrangement or contribution.
- If the page still credits Wikimedia Commons or a Creative Commons source, we may be open to considering a photographer-contributed replacement image for that location.
We are looking for photos that are a strong fit for the page, the season, and the type of outdoor experience people can expect there.
What to Send
To get started, email us at info@gobeoutside.com with:
- Your name and website, portfolio, or social media link
- The locations, states, or regions your photos cover
- A few sample images or a link to a gallery
- Any usage preferences, licensing terms, or attribution requirements
- Whether you are interested in one location, several destinations, or ongoing contributions
Please do not send large files unless we ask for them. A portfolio link or a small set of previews is perfect for an initial conversation.
Let’s Help More People Get Outside
GoBeOutside is beginning with Wisconsin, but the goal is to grow into a useful outdoor planning resource for destinations across the United States.
As new states and destination pages are added, there will be more opportunities to feature the trails, parks, water, towns, landscapes, and outdoor experiences that make each area worth exploring.
We appreciate photographers who help people see what is possible outside.
