About Walla Walla Wine Country

Walla Walla Wine Country is a Washington destination for rural cycling, golf, outdoor events, parks, and wine-country roads below the Blue Mountains.

Make the Most of a Walla Walla Wine Country Day

Plan rides and golf for cooler hours during summer heat. Wind, smoke, harvest traffic, and event crowds can be more important than rain.

Weather Tips for Walla Walla Wine Country

  • Check heat, wind, wildfire smoke, and fire restrictions as closely as rain because exposed eastern routes offer limited shade.
  • If thunder is possible, finish exposed viewpoints, ridges, golf, or event grounds early and keep substantial shelter close.
  • After steady rain, favor paved or well-drained surfaces until natural trails recover.
  • Summer smoke, winter access, shoulder-season closures, and shorter fall daylight can matter even during an otherwise mild forecast.
